Sandy here. I’m excited to introduce you to ShiloCatz Cattery . I am very passionate about the Maine Coon breed and matching the right family to their furever friend.
My husband, Jim, and I live in the beautiful 1000 islands of eastern Ontario. Our home is located in the picturesque countryside of Lansdowne .
The name of the Cattery was inspired by the Hebrew meaning of Shilo - His gift and peace. This cattery is truly a gift to me and I believe the peaceful nature of these cats will be a gift to you. Thanks for stopping by and checking us out.

The Dream
I have always been fascinated by the miracle of birth and new life. Since I was a small child I have had a heart for all animals, especially cats. Many years ago, I dreamed about having my own cattery, being involved with the birthing, caring and raising of kittens.I set it aside, thinking it could never be a reality. I was busy with my family, raising our children, while serving in the Canadian military. After which I ran a successful home daycare business for more than 25 years.
It became very evident to me during the recent lockdowns that there was a great need for animal companionship. The time was right to see my dream come to life in a way I had not expected.
I am now in the process of transitioning from Early Childhood Education, to turning my Cattery dream into a reality.
I’m so excited about this next journey in my life and to share my kittens/cats with you!
The Vision
It’s important to me, to get you know you, your life style and family dynamics. Also reasons why you are choosing to add a Mainecoon to your furever family. Connecting the right kitten, with the right family, is of upmost importance to me. It must be a good fit.
My focus is a small number of litters and personal attention to each kitten before it leaves for its furever home. My goal is to have a smooth easy transition for the kitten/cat and new family.
The Journey
I was looking for a breeder who would mentor me. After, much searching, I found Jolana Pisova @ Nile Goddess Cattery, who is a successful breeder of an award-winning European bloodline of Maine Coons. She agreed to trust me with three of her breeders: Zera, Victoria, and Ziggy (aka Pegasus). They joined our family in October 2022.
It was a year and a half process to hand-pick the right male for breeding: he had to have all the best Maine Coon physical characteristics and most importantly, the gentle personality traits to pass on to the kittens. Ziggy (aka Pegasus) is gentle, and possesses a great personality that I can already see has been passed on to the first litter.
